Jazz Sabbath does as their name suggests, and deliver classic Black Sabbath songs in a distinctly jazz style!
And the fella responsible is no pretender; the group is helmed by 2026 Grammy winning pianist - and local resident - Adam Wakeman.
Adam worked extensively with the Birmingham legends, and was a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band, a position he had held since 2004.
Jazz Sabbath explores the boundaries between jazz and the songs that defined heavy metal. Echoing already present jazz riffs and discovering new ones.
Three studio albums have been isued since 2020 which all charted high in the Billboard Jazz Chartm and their music streaming count is in the millions.
Presenting themselves as a jazz trio formed in 1968 and being the original writers of the tracks, later made famous by Black Sabbath, they have played at international jazz festivals and toured worldwide since 2022. Nearly all dates on last year’s EU/UK tour were sold out well in advance.
Luckily, the band are out on the road again and they will call in at Stowe school on October 7.
