Event Description:
Immerse yourself in the wonderful song of birds in spring.
Wild Amersham is organising a Dawn Chorus walk on Sunday 3 May. Engaging and knowledgeable bird expert Simon Nichols will lead us through farmland, woodland and gardens and tell us lots about the birds we will see and hear, while you enjoy the peace of an early Spring morning.
The walk begins and ends at Amersham Band in Old Amersham, where there is ample parking. It starts at 5AM but we promise you it will be worth it! At the end of the walk there will be coffee, tea and pastries at the Band. Wear sturdy shoes as the paths will be uneven here and there. Children upwards of 6 who are willing to listen and stop often are welcome to come along. The walk is not suitable for children.
Simon started birding age 11 and has not stopped since. He is now based in Lincolnshire where he runs bird ID skill workshops and does commercial and non-commercial bird surveys across the UK. He has an infectious way of sharing his love for birds. We can guarantee that you will learn a lot from him and really enjoy the walk.
This walk is organised by Wild Amersham @ Sustainable Amersham. We encourage people to explore, protect and restore local nature. The cost of the ticket will help us cover the costs of the event.
