Celebrate the Festival of Archaeology with exclusive tours of our new SAXONS exhibition and fun craft activities for children.
Exclusive Tours
Join our very own Keeper of Archaeology on an exclusive tour of our major exhibition The SAXONS: Three lives. Three burial sites. Three extraordinary stories. Discover more about this immersive exhibition, how the Saxons lived, fought, believed and were remembered over 1,300 years ago. Tours will take place at 10:30am, 12:30pm and 2:30pm, please register for these at reception on arrival to secure a place.

Continue your exploration of early life in Bucks in the archaeology gallery and find out about the early people from prehistoric times through to Roman, Saxon, Viking and Medieval times. Meet an Anglo-Saxon woman mistakenly called “the Aston Clinton Princess”, and find out why she’s not really royalty…
Explore the amazing Lenborough Hoard display, and the story of the forgotten invasion of England in 1016 by the Viking King Cnut.
