    Event Description:

High Wycombe’s Fisheye International Film Festival launches on Thursday 16 April in a new venue, the beautifully restored Brunel Engine Shed near the station, with new look branding and a treasure trove of films for audiences to explore. The festival began 11 years ago and has been running an international film competition since 2016.

This year, the carefully curated lineup boasts twelve feature films all selected from Fisheye’s international film competition – ten of which are UK premieres, screening in this country for the very first time. The programme, running mainly over two long weekends, also offers several showcases of short films from the competition, Q&As, and on Saturday 18 April, ‘Poetry and Motion’, which includes live performances of poems and dances inspired by the films being shown. High Wycombe-based dance company, Dew Dance and Dac Carter of the local group ‘Too Few the Poets’ will be performing alongside members of the ‘POW! Play on Words’ collective. The festival culminates in a gala Awards night on Saturday 25 April in the Winter Garden at Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) where ticketholders can walk the Fisheye hot pink ‘red carpet’, and the coveted 2026 Fisheye Awards will be announced in between a programme of short films, making for a unique and special occasion.

Fisheye 2026 is like an indoor festival for film fans! Get a day pass to dip in and out of events and watch short films and features on the big screen! Festival passes cost from £5-8 upwards with price reductions for pairs of tickets.

The festival is also taking place virtually; films will be available on demand hosted on Fisheye’s eoFlix platform from 16 April until 2 May, and with an online Q&A taking place via Zoom on 22 April.
