Event Description:
The Great Chesham Pancake Race returns!! Another free event organised by Chesham Connect – all welcome! Did you know that in the 1980s there were annual Pancake Races in Chesham?
In 2023 Chesham Connect organised a revival of this tradition. Now returning for its fourth year. Sign up or all are welcome to line the High Street (near Market Square end) and come along and watch. We guarantee you are in for some fun and a great community atmosphere.
From Chesham Connect: “The original race was a solo sprint but we like to mix it up so everyone can join in the fun. All ages and speeds, grannies and grandkids welcome. It’s the taking part that counts!
Teams of four will run a relay race but instead of a baton, they will pass a frying pan and pancake. And each runner has to stop twice to toss the pancake – without dropping it on the ground. The winners of each heat will go on to the next round, building up to the final race. Frying pans and pancakes (don’t eat them!) for the race will be provided. And entry is completely free!”

Enter a team, or as a solo and be matched up with teammates on the day. Families, friends, businesses are all welcome. If you don’t want to take part – just come along to watch and cheer your favourites home! Registration from 10:30am, races from 11am. Entries accepted on the day if there is space.
