Event Description:

In celebration of the National Year of Reading!

This workshop is an opportunity to understand what knowledge is required to produce a screenplay, starting with basic script formatting rules. It will introduce storytelling structure, and what info an audience needs before the plot can begin.

Colin will cover a variety of topics such as; How to launch the plot(s) and developing it to create challenges for characters to overcome, making characters interesting using different types of conflict personality traits, creating the right kind of drama/comedy, producing multi-purpose scenes that ensure that every second of screen time is completely taken advantage of, building the story up to a crescendo and of course tying up all of the main characters’ story arcs and delivering that satisfying ending!

Participants just need to bring a notebook and a pencil to make notes in!
