Event Description:

Hedgehogs are an iconic and much-loved British mammal - but sadly they are in steep decline. This online talk will tell you about these prickly creatures and what practical steps and tips you can take to support them in your garden and public spaces. There will be plenty of time for questions from attendees. The talk is suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over; a Zoom link will be sent to you before the talk by email.

The talk will be given by Barbara Polonara, who is a Community Organiser at the Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust (BBOWT). Her species of interest are hedgehogs, swifts, house martins and swallows. She has focused on hedgehogs for a few years now, researching their behaviour and how we can best help these charming, endangered mammals.

This event is organised by Wild Amersham @ Sustainable Amersham as part of the ‘Bring it Back’ project which aims to bring back biodiversity to the local churchyard. The event is open to anyone interested. We are not charging a fee but would appreciate it if you would make a donation if you can, which will help further our work.

* Event details accurate at the time of publishing; please check the organiser's website for the latest updates.
