    Event Description:

You are warmly invited to the schools Junior Musical Production of The Little Mermaid.

Based on a fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen and the subsequent 1989 Disney adaptation, with a brilliant musical score and lyrics by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (the same team behind Beauty and The Beast and Aladdin), this entertaining and colourful show features songs such as Under The Sea, Part of Your World, Kiss The Girl and Les Poissons, along with a variety of exciting dance numbers. Our version will bring together the energy and enthusiasm of a very large and talented cast from Years 7-9; an amazing orchestra of student musicians supported by a few professionals; a skilled student technical team; a dedicated student front of house team and attention to detail from a student team of hair and make-up artists. It is a collaboration of all the Performing Arts skills.

The performances will take place on Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 July at 7.00 p.m. All shows will be in the Mountfield Theatre and doors will open at 6.45pm. As usual the tickets are more expensive than concerts or dance shows as putting on a production of this magnitude is so very costly. We only cover half our costs through Box Office and raise the rest through events and fundraising across the year, so many thanks to all of you who regularly attend our events.

Ticket prices are now tiered (tiers 1-2) depending on view: between 22 - 18 for adults, and 11 - 9 for students. Programmes will be available to purchase from the Front of House team on the night; please note that any Tier 1 ticket bookings will include a free programme. Online ticketing will close at midday the day before each performance: we advise you to book early as this is always a popular event.

As ever, Friends of Borlase will be kindly supporting this event, by offering a range of refreshments at the Friends Bar. This will be open in advance of the event from 6.40-6.55pm, as well as during the interval. Please note that there is absolutely no parking in the school grounds. The public car parks in West Street and at the back of Sainsburys should be used. We would ask you to be mindful of blocking roads and access in the residential areas around the school. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

We look forward to seeing you at our production of The Little Mermaid!
