Free Children’s Art Workshop at Chalfont St Peter Community Library!!
Create a handmade photo album, recipe book or memory journal inspired by family stories and traditions.
As part of Bucks Open Weekend, we’re delighted to welcome local artist Emily Brown from Rather Nice Art for a special hands-on workshop!
Children aged 6–10 will create and decorate their own memory book, photo album, scrapbook or recipe book using colourful collage materials, papers, stickers, pockets, flaps and lots of other creative embellishments.
They’ll then personalise their book with drawings, favourite foods, family traditions, photographs, stories or treasured memories – creating a unique keepsake to take home.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to get creative, learn new art techniques and have fun!
Places are limited to just 8 children, so booking is essential.
Please sign up at the library front desk.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.
We look forward to seeing lots of young artists there!
MORE INFO:
Participants will create their own handmade photo album, recipe book, scrapbook or keepsake journal using simple bookbinding techniques, collage and mixed media decoration. Inspired by family rituals, treasured photographs, recipes, favourite food, local history and personal stories, the workshop explores how memories and traditions are preserved and passed down through generations, and through creative journaling.
Decorative papers, salvaged vintage materials, ephemera, paper shapes, stickers and binding supplies will be provided, and participants are also welcome to bring copies of photographs, family recipes, letters, stickers or written memories to include in their books. Participants may also have the opportunity to include instant photographs created during the workshop, time permitting.
