Event Description:

Workshop fee: £42

Session times:- 10am-3pm

The mandolin is popular instrument used in a range of styles including country, bluegrass, traditional folk and Irish music. It is great as a melody or rhythm instrument and  this workshop will introduce both styles of playing. It will look at basic technique, simple tunes, chord shapes and progressions and playing as a group.

This workshop is suitable for those who have some basic experience of stringed instruments (such as guitar, ukulele, banjo, bazouki, violin) and who can play basic open chords and a few scales or tunes. Ability to read tablature is useful but not essential.

Please bring a mandolin  if you have one, or contact [email protected] if you need to borrow one (limited numbers available).

Tutor Paul Roberts is an experienced  guitar and mandolin teacher and performer, who has played in a range of rock and folk bands, in folk clubs, festivals and for ceilidhs.
