Our proximity to Pinewood Studios and the charm of Amersham and surrounding villages has made the area a popular location for the British Film Industry from the earliest days to the present.
Midsomer Murders & More is a four-mile circular guided walk, starting and finishing at Amersham Station, in which you will learn about:
The earliest film – a silent comedy – made in the town in 1919 The first and numerous other episodes of Midsomer Murders A 1960s Miss Marple film Murder at the Gallop A 1960s comedy about a real-life World War II hero, Passport of Courage The Oscar nominated Four Weddings and a Funeral Filming of My Cousin Rachel Numerous TV programmes including New Tricks, The Professionals, Young Morse, Line of Beauty, Cuckoo The idyllic setting for Midwich Cuckoos Filming at Amersham’s modernist house High & Over Amersham’s earliest cinema The route of the walk may vary, depending on the weather.
