    Event Description:

Two great choral works by Mozart – the wonderfully joyful Coronation Mass and his final, much loved masterpiece the Requiem.

The Coronation Mass is a radiantly joyful setting of the Mass. Festive and exuberant, it also includes a very beautiful soprano solo in the Agnus Dei. The Requiem is one of Mozart’s greatest works. He didn’t live to complete it but his pupil Sussmayr completed the final sections in accordance with Mozart’s intentions. It is a powerful and dramatic work, ranging from the terrifying Dies Irae to the tender and lyrical Hostias – one of Mozart’s most sublime creations. Join us to experience these great works with outstanding young soloists from the Royal Academy and the much esteemed Amersham Festival Chamber Orchestra.
