Learn how to make Tanjore painting, a 450 years old traditional Indian art form from the southern part of India. It traditionally involves using 24 karat gold & semi precious gems to decorate embossed “ muck” paste made from Arabic gum & French chalk powder. This artform has traditionally been used to decorate temples, palaces and depicts images from sacred texts. In this workshop, participants will learn about Tanjore painting and recreate the effect using inks and acrylic paints while creating their own composition based on. Once it is dry, adding gold & then painting the figures.
