Visit WebsiteEvent Description:
The design facility is welcoming visitors as part of Bucks Culture Open Weekends 2026. Tour the space and meet creative practitioners.
Grymsdyke Farm is a shared space for design experimentation, located in the village of Lacey Green. Over the past 20 years founder Dr Guan Lee has repurposed its agricultural buildings to create maker spaces and communal facilities where traditional craftsmanship blends with modern digital design.
The organisation has become an important reference point and a resource for architects, designers and students: a place to develop ideas, explore design practices and investigate methodologies.
Our education programme, Reading Design which includes an annual summer school, is pioneering an interdisciplinary and communal approach to design education. Our teaching and workshops develop experimentation in fabrication, supported by lectures, talks, publications and exhibitions.
The organisation’s rural setting in Buckinghamshire is linked with design and making in a region that historically was the heart of the British furniture industry.
Meet students and artists-in-residence who have worked at the farm and have a look round the workshops, house and grounds. Timing: 11am-3pm
