Visit WebsiteEvent Description:
This is a very special day for the residents of Chalfont St Peter as the fabulous new 12 acre Misbourne Valley Nature Reserve Site officially opens.
The day will start with a ‘cutting the ribbon’ ceremony, assisted by Trustees from the Horn Hill Village Hall association, who provided a generous donation towards the bridge construction.
Joining us with their displays are volunteers from the MRA - Misbourne River Action group, Project Groundwater, Team from the Bucks WasteBusters project and Chiltern Rangers. There will also be a display from a local botanist, who has from the beginning of the concept been recording and gathering baseline data of the wildflowers across the site for us. Organised Forest School activities will also be taking place, so that our younger visitors can feel involved and learn about the nature around them and will also receive a goodie bag on the day.
Our event will start from ‘cutting the ribbon’ at 11am and run on until 3pm. We will be encouraging people to access from the bottom of the site over the new River bridge, and we will have directional signs in place to lead people from the car parking area in front of the Community Centre. We will also have the pedestrian access open at the top of the site just off the A413 Gravel Hill.
