The good news is you don’t need a packed schedule or expensive days out to make the Easter break enjoyable. A few local adventures, some fresh air, and the occasional chocolate egg usually does the trick.
Here are some simple, realistic ideas to help you make the most of the Easter holidays in Buckinghamshire.

Get Outside and Enjoy Spring
After months of winter, Easter is the perfect excuse to spend a bit more time outdoors. Parks, woodlands and countryside walks are starting to look greener, and even a short stroll can turn into a small adventure.
A nature scavenger hunt, feeding the ducks, or simply letting the kids run around in a big open space can easily fill a morning. And if the weather behaves, a picnic always feels like the official start of spring.
Explore Somewhere Local
Sometimes the best days out are the simplest ones — wandering around a pretty town, stopping for a snack, and seeing where the day takes you.
If you’re looking for ideas, our local guides are a great place to start:
Each guide includes family-friendly spots, places to eat, walks, and little things you might not have discovered yet.
Keep It Relaxed
However you spend the Easter holidays, try to keep it simple and flexible. A couple of outings, some fresh air, and plenty of chocolate usually strikes the right balance.
And before you know it, the school bags will be back out and summer won’t be too far away ☀️
