About
A bottle green front with handwritten sign makes Bistro Twelve Twenty look like it’s been on this Tudor Road forever, but if you look through the windows it’s a much more liberal picture than it’s frame.

On the left you can watch as the Chefs make everything, and on the right the restaurant floor is intimate and lively. Music turned up just a notch, high art sits next to a picture of the Chef’s Nan on the walls.
Chef Mark has a constantly changing menu where seasonality is worked into something less parochial, and technique is used to further a new idea, not recreate something you’ve had before. The flow of small plates can take you from China to France over a meal, with a common theme of fun and balanced brashness. Signature dishes include the Smoked Pea Mousse, and the Fried Chicken that has never left the menu, just waltzed with the seasons over the months and years.

Kiera, our Sommelier and Restaurant Manager, is Court of Master Sommelier Certified but never overly formal. She has curated a compact and thought-out wine list that prides itself on showcasing new winemakers and techniques around a classical backbone. It challenges you to step slightly out of your comfort zone with native grapes you’ve never heard of sat between the bottles you already know and love.

The Bistro is a neighbourhood restaurant at the end of the Met line that’s been quietly bringing a bit of boisterous liberation to the suburbs.
