Beginning near Wendover’s Clock Tower, this walk leads up into Wendover Woods, where shaded paths wind through dense woodland alive with birds and seasonal wildlife. Trails such as the Firecrest Trail offer opportunities to pause at a bird hide, while the forest environment changes through the year, from spring birdsong to summer butterflies and the rich colours of autumn beech trees.
Along the route, walkers can visit attractions including Go Ape and the Café in the Woods before continuing to viewpoints near the highest point in the Chiltern Hills. From here, there are expansive views across the surrounding beech woodland before the paths gradually lead back down towards Wendover.
